The Poulsbo Marathon Relay event follows the scenic and challenging Full Marathon course along Liberty Bay into historic downtown Poulsbo and then out to Suquamish and back. The Relay teams are made up of 5 runners, any combination of men and women and ages. Build your team however you like! The distances of the legs of the Relay vary from 3.2 miles in length up to 6.3 miles in length, so there’s a distance for everyone on your team. Relay hand-off locations are located at water stations along the course. The course is mainly road with a short stretch of boardwalk running right over the Bay.
The Marathon Relay starts along with the Full & Half Marathons and the 10K at North Kitsap High School on the corner of Mesford & Caldart. All races finish on the track in the High School Stadium.
Start time – 7:30am
On the course
- Water stations approximately every 2 miles manned by the best volunteers in the world! Each station is supplied with water, electrolyte drink and first aid kits.
- A medical tent will be available at the finish line. A stretching & massage tent will also be located at the finish line.
- Porta-potties or public restrooms are located near each aid station.
Important! There is a 6-hour time limit for the full event – the finish line will close at 1:30 pm. Poulsbo’s streets will be open to traffic during the event, with local, county and state law enforcement assisting runners at busy intersections. WA State Troopers will be assisting with the crossing at SR 305 until 11:30 am. This allows all runners and Half Marathon walkers approximately 4 hours to completed 11.5 miles of the course.
Chip timing will be provided for all races by Rogue Multisport.

T-shirts & Medals
All runners will receive a cool technical tee. Our shirts are designed and printed locally. Finishers are the Full & Half Marathons will receive a finisher’s medal.
Awards will be given to the top three male and females finishers in each event. Ribbons will be awarded to the top three runners in each age division, both Male and Female. Age divisions are: Under 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, & 80+.
