FULL MARATHON  - 26.2 MILE RUN - 6 HOUR TIME LIMIT
COURSE MAP

Run the course: The race starts at the intersection of Mesford and Caldart, just below the North Kitsap High School tennis courts. Runners will head south on Caldart and turn left on NE Hostmark, travelling a long, gradual uphill that passes by the main entrance to NKHS. Runners will stay left as they pass Strawberry Field just before the intersection with Noll Rd. Runners will turn left on Noll Rd., continuing on a slight incline. At the T in the road, the course takes a left onto Mesford and becomes a downhill stretch as mile marker one is passed. The course loops left on Caldart and repeats the Caldart to Hostmark section - however, this time runners will be directed right onto the pedestrian path bordering Strawberry Field on Hostmark, just past mile marker 2, and make a right hand turn onto Noll Rd.  The first Aid Station is located at the end of the pedestrian path-at Poulsbo Elementary School. The course continues downhill for over a mile on Noll Rd, passes mile marker 3, crosses and heads slightly south on SR305 then turns right on Delate, until reaching another T in the road. This is the junction with Lemolo Shore Drive and here the course turns right and becomes slightly rolling.

Heading North on Lemolo Shore the course travels left on Tuk Wil La, passes mile marker 4 just past Brauer and Aid Station #2, turns right at the end of Tuk Wil La onto Norum, makes another right at Norum's end onto Jacobsen. The course then travels left at the stop sign onto Brauer. There is a short uphill on Brauer before you rejoin Lemolo Shore Dr, turning left on Lemolo just before mile marker 5.

The course continues along the beautiful shoreline of Liberty Bay (keep a look out for the seals who like to lounge and frolic along the shore here), and passes mile marker 6 just before the Aid Station at Oyster Plant Park. Continue North as Lemolo Shore becomes Fjord Dr. at Lion's Park. There are public restrooms located at Lions Park.  Fjord Dr. meanders upward and ends at a stop sign and 5 way intersection. Here you turn left onto Hostmark for a short, steep downhill, which curves right becoming Front St. Enjoy this picturesque and flat stretch through the shops before turning right at the red telephone booth in front of Hare & Hound Pub onto Jensen Way. Mile marker 7 will be just ahead on Jensen. Continue on Jensen Way through the intersections with both Iverson and Sunset, then up and down a long, sweeping, leftward leaning curve through the lovely Poulsbo Place neigborhood, returning to Front St, where the course turns left and heads south on Front St.

From Front St., and just past the intersection with Sunset, runners will make a sharp right at the entrance to American Legion Park, head down the drive, through the parking lot and then make a sharp left onto the cement walkway leading to and around the playground. Runners will continue left for a short jaunt through the grass before joining the gravel and paved pathway leading through the park. Public restrooms are located left and above the path just past mile marker 8.  The course then traverses the boardwalk that connects American Legion Park to Muriel Iverson Williams Waterfront Park.  Runners will encounter music at Kvelstad Pavilion, Aid Station #4, and public restrooms (brick building just past Kvelstad Pavilion) before exiting the park to the left at the entrance to Poulsbo's Guest Marina. From here the course heads right through Anderson Parkway, between the restaurants on Queen Sonja Vei, then left through the parking lot past the Marine Science Center and up past the bronze fountain before rejoining Front St/Hostmark for a short, steep uphill. Turn right onto Fjord Dr. Follow Fjord Drive and continue on Lemolo Shore Drive, pass mile marker 9, and revisit the Oyster Plant Park Aid Station (portable toilets will be located here).

After passing mile marker 10 runners will turn right onto Brauer from Lemolo Shore Drive, and continue on Brauer through the intersection with Jacobsen, then turn left on Tuk Wil La, and make a right to rejoin Lemolo Shore Drive. The course then heads left on Delate, passes mile marker 11, turns left on SR305 and crosses right to Noll Road. WA State Troopers will be here to assist runners across SR305. Noll Road is a long, uphill stretch that can be managed well with a good, steady pace. Runners will pass mile marker 12 before reaching the Aid Station at Poulsbo Elementary. Just past the Aid Station at Poulsbo Elementary, the full marathon and half marathon runners will split - full marathon runners will continue straight (North) on Noll Road, while the half marathon participants will head left on Hostmark.

Noll Road will come to a T where the course continues right, again on Noll Road. This a medium-long, steep downhill that curves left, passes mile marker 13,  and becomes a pleasant flat stretch all the way to Lincoln Road and Aid Station #7. The course heads right on Lincoln Road , passes mile marker 14 and becomes a rolling ride along Lincoln, then heads right at the blinking yellow light onto Widme Rd. Mile marker 15 is at the intersection of Lincoln and Widme Roads. Widme Road meanders South, passes mile marker 16 and 17 as well as Aid Station #8, then turns left at it's end onto Totten Road.

Totten is another rolling stretch that will take runners past mile marker 18, as well as Aid Station #9. At the stop sign, the course then heads left on Suquamish Way and shortly passes mile marker 19. There is a nice wide shoulder along Suquamish Way for runners to run on all the way through the intersection with Division St. Runners should use caution after Division as the shoulder becomes narrow as Suquamish heads toward the water and curves left, becoming Augusta Ave. Briefly enjoy the views of the Sound and of Seattle as you round the bend from Suquamish to Augusta Ave. Once on Augusta runners should stay left and make use of the sidewalks as the course passes mile marker 20, then turns left on Geneva for a steep(!) couple blocks before turning right on Park Blvd. Aid Station #9 is located along Park Blvd in front of Suquamish Elementary School.

Continue north on Park Blvd from the Aid Station, turn left at the end of Park onto Prospect, then left onto Division Ave. From Division the course turns right on Columbia St. Mile marker 21 will be encountered as Columbia makes a slow right hand curve. Runners will continue on windy, woodsy, rolling (ever upward) Columbia, passing mile marker 22, until they reach the intersection with Lincoln Road. The course then travels left on Lincoln Road. Aid Station #10 will be located at the intersection of Columbia and Lincoln.

Follow Lincoln Road for a long flat stretch, pass mile marker 23 and enjoy the long downhill on Lincoln after passing the blinking yellow light at the junction with Widme Road.  Hang tough as Lincoln heads back up, passes mile marker 24, and then returns to the Aid Station at the junction of Lincoln and Noll Roads. Turn left on Noll Road just past mile 24 of the course. Noll Road is again a nice flat stretch - even better on the return trip as it is ever so slightly downhill until passing mile marker 25 and sweeping right and up (Uff Da!), then left (still on Noll) at the stop sign at the top of the hill. The course returns via Noll Road to Hostmark. Runners head right on Hostmark, heading down a nice gradual downhill section, then veer right into the NKHS Tech Center parking loop, follow the flagging along the pathways leading through campus and enter the track through the southeast pedestrian gate. Runners will continue northward and around the track to the finish line in front of NKHS Stadium.
